Pandora's Jar
by Natalie Haynes
Such an interesting book! I think I bought this earlier this year but it's taken me this long to get round to reading it. Natalie Haynes offers fascinating insights into misogyny in common retellings of Greek myths and seeks to readdress the power imbalance. I also think this book is a really useful tool for people just getting into mythology (i.e. me) as it can also act as a crash course into lots of well-known stories; think 'Greek Mythology 101'. I particularly enjoyed the sections on Medusa and Clytemnestra, other chapters I wasn't as interested in, but the whole book was well written and brought many myths into the modern-day. Very fun.
