The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks
3.0

(This review contains one minor spoiler.)
I saw the movie for the first time back in Nov 2012 and so it's been a decent amount of time before picking up the book thats been sitting in my shelf for a few years now, although it is very hard to forget Le Efron these days. This is also the first time I've actually read a Sparks novel despite seeing all of the movie adaptations at least once and owning the staples on DVD.
That being said, it was fine. I allowed myself to get into the story. I read it in one sitting easily. It was what it was. I still like the movie better and would have considered writing a few very angry words to Sparks if he had killed the dog. I only spent .50$ on my copy at Goodwill so I'm not upset but I am among the feelings that I like his stories more as movies so this will probably be that last Sparks book I buy.
