The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
by Stieg Larsson
Meh. I... don't get the big deal. I've read plenty of thrillers and most were much more involving and interesting than this one. And not nearly so ugly. It's not even that I can't handle a certain amount of violence in books. It's just that this book felt so sadistic and...ugly. I did think some of the characters were somewhat interesting but, overall, it was a chore to get through this book. I slogged though it, though, b/c it was so popular that I was sure there would be some big payoff to make it all worthwhile. There wasn't. Reading a book for "pleasure" shouldn't have to be such a chore. If someone gave me the next book in the trilogy for free I may read it but I certainly wouldn't buy it. I'm glad I'm done with it so I can close the chapter on that book.
