it’s a sometimes strange, but provoking experience to read literature, because you often meet characters that commit heinous acts, but you still know that you’re reading something compelling and iconic. sometimes, I feel wimpy when I can’t fully let go and admire an influential work because of disturbing parts (i.e. florentino and america vicuña). I can see why this novel has stood the test of time, and why it is DEFINITELY literature. and so, this has been another one of those challenging, but fascinating reads.
