The Christmas Boutique: An ELM Creek Quilts Novel by Jennifer Chiaverini
2.0
I have no idea how this book has as good a rating as it does.
I love the Elm Creek Quilt book series. I love the characters, old and new.
But I absolutely cannot recommend a book whose first 40+ pages and 90% of the remaining pages is all straight recap of prior books.
This book isn't that long - the original content (including what little new material is incorporated in the flashbacks) is less than 20 pages combined.
Definitely a rip-off.
The only thing saving this from a 1 star review and me violently tossing it out the proverbial window is that I love the characters enough to put up with all of that horrific backlog to enjoy the new, even just a few pages worth.
Still, the author and publisher both should be ashamed of themselves for passing this off as a new novel.
