The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood

5.0

Holy shit. One of the best books I've read recently, possibly ever. It's slow going for ages, feels like reading two separate books. And then around page 400, 450, they start to draw together, and the last 25% of the book races (in it's peculiar, slow motion way) toward that soft, gentle, devastating ending. I felt very removed from the book for a long time. It was like a dream. For hundreds of pages I couldn't decide if I liked it or not, but I liked the experience of reading it, so I kept on. &.I'm so glad I did.
