I fell in love with this book for it's writing, feel deeper for its characters, for its landscape, but I think what I love the most is that it's a story about being cast out for differences that somehow, miraculously, breezes right past being cast out and into a gripping, charming, and edgy adventure of genderless outlaws wanting to do right by the outcasts. This novel doesn't dwell: it flies, and it is somehow all about story but also all about characters but also all about the essence of all the best stories and storytelling. It is also the queerest thing I've read in a long time, in a gorgeously uneventful way, and I loved it for that.
