I read this book in less than 2 days, just like I always do with any Abby Jimenez book. She knows how to write and keep us readers glued to the pages. The main characters were lovable and had great chemistry, but the reason for my lower rating is that I didn't feel like this was a romance. I had anxiety the entire time reading it. There was so much going on and so many bad decisions. Like the house remodel?
Also can we talk about the dad for a second. 6 months and he's already doing what he's doing? I thought that part was BS as well as grandma not wanting a surgery that could've prolonged her life. It just made me mad. Her brother Tristin was rude af too.
I felt that the story was ultimately lacking more romance, more connection, more happiness. Maybe Abby was trying to show what real life is like. The realistic side of a long distance relationship and having to be a caregiver to someone with dementia while also dealing with financial problems.
All in all, I'm still happy I read it and enjoyed the quick read l... but THE ANXIETY of every page was not
something I was expecting 😅
