I can’t believe I’ve finally finished this series, i’m going to miss it so much! This was a perfect prequel in my opinion, it gives you a really insightful backstory to Olivia and why she is the way she is in Flowers In The Attic. I felt a lot of empathy for her throughout this book, she’s clearly just a woman trapped in a cycle of a dysfunctional family with no way of escaping, and unfortunately like many people do in real life, she continues that cycle onto her children and grandchildren. I’m not saying she did not wrong, she absolutely has her flaws and her behaviour and attitude, especially towards Alicia, was horrific at times, but this gives you a bit more understanding as to why she behaves that way.

I truly just love V.C. Andrews’ writing so much, and i will absolutely be picking up the Heaven series soon!
