After reading almost every single John Green's book, I can still say that Looking for Alaska was one of the best things I've ever read. It changed me inside and I've been searching for that feeling in all his books now but was never able to find it again. They're not bad but they're not what I'm looking for either.
Either way, I do have a good time reading them and this book kind of hit close to home, with all the "mattering" subject and all.
I often find myself asking what the hell am I doing in this life. I want so bad to matter to the people I love and I need to know that there's a place for me in this world. Also, I too am familiar with that f-cking hole in your gut when you lose someone you really love and it sucks as much as you would imagine.
I got waaaay too lost with all the maths included in this book but it does not affect the story in any way and you can always read the appendix and try to figure everything out anyway.
