The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt

4.0

Literary Fiction. A retrospective first person narrative. Excellent writing. I had trouble liking Theo and many of the other characters. He made some incredibly bad choice and we see how those choices play out. And then we see him get back in control of his life rather than letting circumstances and people control him. Art. Life Philosophy. This book contained some hard subjects and was not always pleasant to read or listen to. But I am glad I stuck it out. The ending made it worth it. And there were concepts I could relate to. It has stuck with me and kept me thinking.
