oh my goodness. what an absorbent absorbing book! first of all, you had me at epistolary romance - with an archives angle - and also underwater lesbians. I found the characters charming and their world intriguing. This could very easily turn More gothic, given the claustrophobic/eerie setting and the fixation on Mysterious Objects, and while that doesn’t necessarily *have* to be the direction of the sequel, I wouldn’t argue if it was. I am so looking forward to reading what happens next!
