While it started as an interesting political statement, scarily well predicting the trajectory of the author’s home country’s history, and a story of a personal psychological struggle, I felt like in the middle of the book it devolved into a somewhat shallow adventure story. Alternatively, I just didn’t get it. In any case, I liked the first half of the book, but was underwhelmed by the second one
