I am really struggling with how to feel about this one. I have some whiplash because most of the story was slow, not really focused on the thriller vibe I was hoping for, but the end was so intensely fast. There was so much happening in the last 80 pages or so I just didn’t connect to the story as much with that pacing. I’m also bouncing between seeing this through a reality lens, which is just sickening and stressful, and seeing it through a movie villain lens like Get Out. It’s a social commentary either way but the ending is unbelievably heavy through a more reality based lens. I’m just stuck feeling like the concept was great, but I wish it was executed a little differently. I didn’t feel like I got closure in the end.
