So I really enjoyed this story and found it very interesting to learn about Lacey Spears throughout her life BUT this book is extremely repetitive. Incidents are repeated multiple times in excessive detail. It’s like we have to go through the whole story every time it is introduced to someone new such as the police & jurors. I feel like I have memorized the story down to the exact lab values. I feel like if this book had been 250 pages vs 400ish pages it would have been perfect. I literally had to listen to the audiobook at 2x speed to get through this book. During this time frame nothing new was stated just other people’s opinions on the events. I enjoyed the writing style when reading the events the original time but after that it became very repetitive and boring. Even when I was reading instead of listening to the audiobook I found myself skimming the pages trying to get to the actual story instead of repeated information and others opinions. I appreciate the research that went into making this book and the writing style but in my opinion it did not keep my attention past the first section.
