This one was ok. Just .. Ok. A lot of it felt like filler - like when SkyClan decides to leave but they are then brought back to the lake. We have another quest/travelling part because of that. juniperclaw was one of my favourite characters in this book - his sacrifice was so well done - though I hated that he still ends up in the dark forest.. despite way worse cats going to StarClan but okay. I am also still not a fan of Finleap - he took way too long to come around and accept the fact that Twigbranch wants to wait for kits and doesn't want to have them right away- love a female character that doesn't turn into a generic good warrior and good mother by the end of the arc though, love that she stood up for herself and told Finleap over and over that she wants to focus on mentoring and have kits later when she feels ready and I love that she isn't pressured into having kits by the end of the series like so many other female cats are. Violetshine and Tree were sweet though. I loved Tree in this book and I especially loved it when he spoke with Twigbranch and he told her that it's all right if you wait until you are ready and focus on mentoring first. And I love his powers, too bad they are so rarely brought up afterwards.
