Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

I LOVED THIS BOOK WITH MY WHOLE HEART AND SOUL.

The reason it took me so long to write up this mini Goodreads review is because I had SO many things to say about this book in my blog review post that I had such a hard time condensing it. But without further ado, let's get on with my valiant attempt!

Everything about this book charmed me from the first few pages right on until the very end. The characters were so likeable - scratch that, they were so loveable - and multi-dimensional. The romantic plot had my heart melting and crying every five seconds. And above all, the dialogue was complete perfection. My weak spot in novels is dialogue. I love good witty banter above all. Give me a sarcastic, loveable protagonist and a wonderful verbal sparring partner, and I'm in heaven. Alex and Henry were the perfect pairing in every conceivable way.

Not only was the story so magically endearing, but it was also important af. There is so much representation in this novel. It literally made my heart sing. Obviously, this is an LGBTQ romance - but even in terms of race and gender, there is such a vast cast of characters. There's a female president y'all!!!! This novel portrayed maybe not a perfect world, but a stepping stone to a more progressive, equal, and understanding future. I hope we can get there soon.

I love this book. I recommend it to everyone. If you want to feel warm and fuzzy inside, go buy this immediately. Seriously, this book has immediately put Casey McQuiston on my radar as a must-read author. I really look forward to reading whatever she puts out in the future!
