The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

5.0

This book is so well written, it's not the sort of book I would normally choose but it was chosen by my friend in our book club. I love that death narrates it and the way he talks about the people and the souls is really good. I am a fairly slow reader so the fact that the chapters are not huge makes a big difference for me because I read a few chapters at a time.

I love Liesel and Rudys friendship, cheeky and loving at the same time. In fact I love Liesel's relationship with her foster father Hans and Max too they're all different but equally lovely:)

I laughed, I cried and I was shocked and for a book about the holocaust to do that, well now that is well written! Excellent book. Also watched the film but as usually book is better:)
