Juicy in the best way. All the characters felt real; I in turns was rooting for and against them. They were all flawed and unlikeable at points.
When I got to the 2010 Olympics I was shocked I had more to go, but wow the build up was worth it. The lengths that some will go to to win, to deny any wrongdoing because of their own prejudices for and against those involved… whew!
Katarina was controversial because she was ruthlessly ambitious. She didn’t care about being likable, she cared about winning. She didn’t care about traditions, she cared about what worked best for her, and how to utilize it to her advantage. It’s easy to see why that would rub people the wrong way.
I’m glad Heath found balance at the end of the book, it was hard to see how wrapped up in Kat he was. It was often to the detriment of his own wishes.
Overall, messy! Juicy! I couldn’t stop listening!
