Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris
4.0

This book is where Harris really starts playing with multiple plots and multiple threads. It is all very successful and interesting, and the layers of Sookie start to become more pronounced and we see how being involved with vampires affects Sookie, but also her growing confidence in herself and especially her telepathy. Harris dramatically grows the world, introducing us to more vampires, supes and hierarchies. This isn't my favorite book in the series, but it is instrumental in Sookie's growth, her evolving relationship with Bill and Eric, and is a very enjoyable read. For those familiar with the TV show this is where the show heavily begins to veer from the books and I still think the books are far superior.
