this book FINALLY explores what lucas has to go through in hawkins as the only nerdy black kid around. also mike and dustin are awful fucking friends and i can't stop laughing about will saying mike holds the party together bc he's "the heart" when he actively did not give a single shit about lucas for their entire freshman year.
