The Wolf King by Lauren Palphreyman
4.0

Captor x Captive | Werewolves | Clans | Scottish Representation | Love Triangle

Format: Audiobook

I went into this book blind and was pleasantly surprised to discover that the MMC, Callum, is Scottish, and I absolutely loved that. I also really enjoyed the kind, protective vibe he had. As someone who’s completely obsessed with omegaverse books, I think this is a great entry-level pick for anyone wanting to dip their toes into the subgenre. However, this is NOT an omegaverse novel.

The chemistry and tension between Callum and Aurora are well done. The plot flows smoothly, giving me a fanfic vibe, which I totally loved. The FMC is smart without being too stiff or overly serious, although she does tend to jump to conclusions a lot (but, honestly, who doesn’t do that?).

As for the MMC, he’s a big softie, emphasis on big. He’s exactly my type- tough and confident on the outside but soft and caring on the inside.

Okay, not sure if this is a spoiler, but I have to say, the “villain”? I’d risk it all for him.

The narration was amazing! Zara Hampton-Brown was the perfect fit for Aurora, and she nails Blake's masculine voice too! And Shane East?? He can talk in my ear anytime!

Thank you Simon Maverick for ALC!
