A Taste for Love by Jennifer Yen

4.0

The book was very cute. It made me giggle like I was back in high school all over again. This is a great read for people who love rom com and helicopter mom comedies.

The setting is fun it's set in summer in Houston, Texas. Liza Yang is an 18 year old who is still trying to figure out what she wants to do for a living and where she wants to go to college. Liza has a helicopter mom who is trying to set her up with a good ASIAN guy. Liza is aggravated about this. Its quite funny. Liza's mom owns a bakery and all Liza wants to do is bake with her mother but mom is having non of it she must go to a good college and get a 'real' job. Liza's dad owns a restaurant and is the mediator between the 2.

I love the characterization and relationships in this book. Liza's character is stubborn and stong-willed and a little rebellious. Her best friend Grace keeps her from taking it too far.

And of course can't have a rom com without the first meeting. Which is this case is absolutely hilarious because James is just as stubborn as she is but he's more quiet, reserved, and socially awkward than she is which makes for a terrible first impression which of course makes for hilarious dialogue.

Overall I enjoyed this book.
