How Far the Light Reaches: A Life in Ten Sea Creatures by Sabrina Imbler

informative inspiring reflective fast-paced

5.0

The perfect weaving of deep sea creature facts and stories, with personal moments of queerness and connections to identity and community. I was hooked from the very first essay, and loved new interpretations on familiar organisms and how their lives mirror humanity. An easy and quick listen read by the author, with essays I will return to, especially "If You Flush a Goldfish", "My Mother and the Starving Octopus", and "Morphing Like A Cuttlefish".
