The Nobleman's Guide to Scandal and Shipwrecks
by Mackenzi Lee
4.5 stars
I really don’t feel like this series needed to be fantasy.
I feel like the historical fiction and the finding yourself aspects were enough that the other bits could have not been fantasy. It feels wrong for them to be on my fantasy shelf since I labled them historical fiction for years until this book
I loved seeing the relationship between the siblings develop as they got to know eachother. I want to know everything that happened between the books:
-Monty and Percy over the years
-Why Johanna and felicity stopped working so closely with the dragons
-Johanna meeting her husband
-if Johanna ever got max back
- why monty and felicity hadn’t seen eachother in years
-all of felicity’s travels
And I’m so angry we didn’t get a scene of monty finding out Adrian punched Richard peel and I wish we’d heard Percy and montys wedding vowels.
I wonder if Henry sr ever finds out that Adrian knows the others
I felt conflicted about sim and felicity’s relationship. I don’t know that much about aro/ace people but it definitely felt like felicity felt something special for sim beyond friendship but idk . They definitely had a special connection and sim was still clearly in love with her after all these years . I think she understood what felicity could give and didn’t try and push her. The Scene where they hold hands on the kitchen table was a sad view of what could have been but also heartwarming that they have that connection .
I have so many thoughts about this book and I enjoyed it but Adrian’s mental illness triggered some of my own so if I reread it it will have to be in a calmer state of mind
