Wow, this was amazing. I’ve had a lot of run-ins with police, and I thought I knew a bit... but I learned a lot, especially about political policing (Vitale dedicates an entire chapter to this). Connecting the struggle of capitalists to crush labor movements to the rise of policing in the US and Great Britain was insightful. I felt like I could see the history spread out before me on a table.
