The villains in this book all have perfectly justifiable reasons for doing what they do. In the book it’s based on, the exact opposite is what helps the narrative succeed. There is virtually no character development and the protagonist is quite self-absorbed. Three stars for the breathtaking drawings—maybe this should have been a series of paintings? Or a picture book?
