Do not go into this thinking that it is a new story from George R.R. Martin.

It is, simply, the first half of ‘Fire and Blood’, narrated by Harry Lloyd (the actor who played Viserys Targaryen in Game of Thrones).

Essentially a history book, detailing the rise of the Targaryens, the conquest and then the Dance of the Dragons it is great for anyone who likes detailed history for the characters in these books/TV Shows. I found the back stories and the politics very interesting - as a history fan I can 100% see that GRRM got his influences from English History, the conquest by William I and then the Wars of the Roses for the Dance of the Dragons.

Harry Lloyd has a very nice, soothing voice to listen too. I found myself very engaged with it and will happily listen to the second half, if and when it is released on Audio and if Harry is narrating
