whoever decided we needed a thriller about medical examiner samira khan and her degenerate husband andrew tate needs to be taken out back and shot between the eyes. repeatedly.

even ignoring the pickme-chauvinist main duo, every aspect of this book is awful. terrible writing. out-of-touch, childish dialogue that reads like a victorian robot attempting to sound like a modern thirty year old and failing miserably. whiny, insufferable characters. aria could have been salvaged, but of course the woman who has the common sense to be wary of the gender that perpetrates 98% of violent crimes is going to be written as an insipid, childish bitch. an obnoxious number of "male brain" and "boys will be boys" phrases are present in the book. and jack stapleton. this grown ass man was screaming and crying about a grown woman saying "fuck," while simultaneously letting his terrorist son beat up schoolmates at the recess yard because boys will be boys. priorities slightly out of whack, don't you think? somebody should have stabbed a fentanyl needle into >his< arm.
