well this one was an absolute improvement on book 2. i just don't think the slow burn fantasy worked well for that one. this book, though... evie was so disgustingly unhinged and i loved every second of it. like honestly, i want to be evie westerly, right down to her thigh holsters and knee high boots.

my ONLY issue with this book really is that the second half didn't quite live up to the first half. don't get me wrong, i'm totally here for him being the supportive boyfriend of an unhinged goth gf but at the same time, i feel like i wanted him to become unhinged himself. i wanted more of the hooked vibes where hook insisted he'd let hand her the match to burn the world down if that's what she wanted. the vibes were there but we didn't quite get them in full force, that really would have made me give this 5 stars!

either way, loved the vibes, loved the smut, loved the characters. reminded me a lot of the mindfuck series by s t abby. evie is a straight up bad bitch villain and i would want her on my team all day every day. nick can come too.
