Pictures of You by Emma Grey
5.0
As soon as I saw Emma Grey wrote this, I HAD to have it. I loved The Last Love Note, so I was thrilled to dive into this one blind. And it's not for the faint of heart. Definitely check the trigger warnings before grabbing this one. It's heavy and will definitely not be for everyone.
Evie Hudson is at her husband's funeral, but she isn't grieving like her in laws expect her to be. Instead she's trying to figure out who he is and what she's doing there. She was involved in the car accident that took his life, but she survived only to be wracked with amnesia that takes her back 13 years to when she was just 16 years old. Now she's got to give it time to piece what happened back together. Luckily, her best friend from high school, Drew Kennedy, is here to help her figure out what happened and how she lost everyone she loved. Now she has a chance to start over with the one she never forgot.
Check the triggers for this one:
✅ Domestic violence
✅ Sexual violence
✅ Gaslighting
✅ Coercive control
✅ Suicide ideation
✅ Parental death
✅ Childhood illness
I will say I didn't think anything was overly graphic if that's a concern of yours. This was incredibly powerful and I had a hard time putting it down. (Fun story I actually forgot I was making lunch because I stopped to pick this up and read another chapter. Well, not fun for my husband.) I could totally see how this whole situation happened. I had a relationship that started going that way when I was in high school, which made this feel a bit more real for me. Incredible. Highly recommend!!!
