5 stars because while I hated reading it at times, there was never a moment I wasn’t captivated by the words in the page.
Feminism, queerness, motherhood, womanhood, sensuality, and everything in between is explored within these pages.
The writing is Brilliant, but I should note that I am not someone who loves horror, thrillers, and psychological mysteries and there are many of those in here.
Therefore it is no surprise that my favorite story was “Inventory” which is more apocalyptic than anything else.
Regardless, Machado is a phenomenal writer that will have you feeling every feeling humanly possible.
