This book makes me want to return AP Humanities or another literature course so I can dive in even deeper to the vignettes and ideas. Wow. I highlighted so much, especially in the beginning and end (the middle was very history dense and I struggled picking it up, even though I knew I wanted to finish). It has all the markings of my wheelhouse - time, memory, loss, the past, all with some really stellar writing. I can't imagine the work that went in to translating. This is not one I could finish in the 21-day loan time on Libby, simply because the ideas were so dense. I'm glad I ended up purchasing a digital copy to revisit. What a collection of ideas. Vibes > plot. Please someone call up my most literary- and history-minded people and let's parse this one through !
