I really don’t know what to make of this book. It’s 4 stars as I found it very easy to read. I absolutely loved Charlie and Charlie’s whole character. However, I felt Dev often acted out of character and felt a lot less fleshed out? This wasn’t helped by a very choppy first act where we got a solid impression of Charlie but Dev was a bit all over the place. Once the two characters both realise what’s happening (they’re into one another), there’s more muddling about until suddenly it’s insta-love. I just? Idk man. I also think the ending was cheap and that Charlie deserved better, honestly, I kind of hated Dev by the end. I read this after reading Kiss Her Once For Me so I shouldn’t have been surprised that the two endings basically mirrored one another, but I felt that KHOFM had a bit more plot happening in the middle. Also I’m British and didn’t grow up with The Bachelor so I didn’t fully understand some of the translations of stuff into Ever After speak. Idk I just… this book was hyped for me and I just. Didn’t get on with it. And why is everyone either vomiting or crying all the time?
