A great addition to the series. The characters go beyond their expected limits and learn new things, like how to fight. Connor and Alex take on more responsibilities. We meet more kids with magical properties. We did loose some characters, no spoilers, but it is sad to see them go. On the other hand a "new" character is introduced and leaves us wanting more at the end. The bad side was that I feel like for most of the book the adults are useless. Some control an entire kingdom others have magical powers, but are running around with their heads cut off because they can't do anything. I know it makes the book more interesting, but if Alex could turn guns into flowers, why couldn't all the fairies do that and then bam it's over? Oh well, look forward to the next one.
