This book was a really fun read, which I did not expect from being familiar with the rather insipid musical. The writing of the book transcends that so much--I'm determined that I must read the rest of Dennis's books now. He's very clever in his style and makes a character that could easily be despicable utterly irresistible instead. Auntie Mame is crazy, but she's exactly whom I wish I could be.
