A Fate Inked in Blood (Saga of the Unfated Book 1)
Rating : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was my first Danielle Jenson book, and I was not disappointed! It definitely had a more refined/old language style which doesn't flow as naturally as some, so it took me a second to get used to that, but I felt like using that language really put you into the Viking Era. And can I say? Vikings...yes please! Man Bjorn was pure gold!!! (5 stars just for him). He was strong, and a warrior through and through, but he was also very charming, caring, and swoon-worthy. His words went straight to my soul. Freya was strong, independent, and resilient. However, at times, I found myself a little frustrated with her. Though, I do believe there were intentional reasons for this (plotwise) and was more than likely the purpose by the author. This book was not exactly what I was expecting plotwise, but I don't mean that in a bad way. It was an unexpected surprise! It was action-packed with very little down time, and it had a full cast of characters to complement the MC's. There was even a little bit of intrigue and mystery thrown in. I do wish some of the answers were a little better concealed, but I definitely didn't see that ending coming!  Overall, I really loved this book.
