The Murders in the Rue Morgue by Edgar Allan Poe

4.5

It was my first time reading Poe and I didn't expect for me to like him that much. I don't have much experience with mystery books and detectives and stuff because I didn't really think it would something I'd enjoy but here I am. I loved the way he writes, I think it's so beautiful and smart and I also liked that detective's (he's not really a detective) way of thinking was being explained so thoroughly although at times I struggled and I was getting kind of confused. He mentioned some pretty clever sayings/ quotations and theories so I needed to research some things. In conclusion, I finished the book and immediately bought some more of his work.
