Arthur C. Clarke once stated ‘any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic’, and that is just the balance that Dawkins vividly explores here. Whilst overly simplistic at points, this text does offer an interesting insight into various aspects of mythology, geology and astronomy and how the level of human understanding (and awareness of our place in the universe) has changed dramatically over the last ten thousand years, and will probably alter again in the next ten thousand…
