A Feast for Crows by George R.R. Martin

5.0

I'll have more to say about this at my newsletter, but this is sort of the worst received novel in the series. It took a long time to arrive and gave almost no one what they wanted. But I thought it might be the best of the series when I first read it and I feel that same way now, eleven years later.

But this may have to do with my obsession with failure. The arc of Cersei's story here is just impeccable. Also Brienne. Also the whole Dornish excursion.

I love failure in fiction. I find it beautiful and wondrous.

BUt, yes, more to come.
