A very slow book, took me a long time to get through even at 240 pages.
I liked how easily it read, but it could at times get a tad boring and repetitive. There’s no excitement, but the beautiful descriptions of the mountains and how the animals interacted make up for that.

What stood out to me was the MC’s bond with the animals. I adored her love for them and the lengths she went to to care for them all. It was very relatable and I enjoyed watching her build her new family.

I thought the ending was abrupt and left me with more questions than I had in the middle of the book.

In all, this is just an account of a woman adapting to a bizarre situation but not much of a plot. It’s well written, but obviously translated so some parts were awkward, but I did enjoy my time (however long and arduous) with this book.
