Portia and Kent! I LOVE when we see sexual healing from either past trauma or total jadedness on a character’s part, and that’s what we have here. Portia’s mother sold her body and finally found one man to stay with who didn’t want her children, so she shipped Portia and her sister off to live with their aunt. She grows up thinking she will never want love, or marriage, or children, and when Kent enters the picture, he’s dead set on changing her mind. Also?? He calls her Duchess 🙌🏼

This is classic Beverly and I’m loving every novel in this set!!
