Traumnovelle
by Arthur Schnitzler
After Gustl, I gave Schnitzler a wide berth for the time being. But I kept the Traumnovelle in the back of my mind. But I did not expect that it would be such a gem. I was completely fascinated by the story and its surprising paths. Much of it felt very modern, even linguistically, although it was set in Vienna around 1900.
