The Viper Amulet: The Sequel to Rubies of the Viper
by Martha Marks
It has been years since I read the first book in the series but it all came back to me as I read this captivating novel. This second book was written from two different point of views. One was of our heroine, Theodosia and the other is of her step-son Nickolaos. It was definitely an interesting way to write this book. Theodosia is now free of Nero and is embarking on her new life with Alexander. This novel is the story of their struggle to stay together in the face of some very difficult challenges.
I thoroughly enjoyed the setting and time period of the novel. It mainly takes place on an island in Greece and then near the end the story moves to Judea. It all takes place in the first century. I read this novel in two days and did not want to put it down. You don't need to have read the first book to enjoy it. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves historical fiction!
