Rogue One: A Star Wars Story by Alexander Freed
4.0

This is the first film novelisation I've read, or at least the first Star Wars one, and it definitely won't be the last. I loved the film Rogue One and this was a perfect companion novel to it, still including the main scenes of the film but expanding on the motivations of the characters, their backstories and why they do certain things. This time we see exactly why Jyn is so reluctant to help the rebellion and why Cassian decided to go against everything he had learned and help the daughter of Galen Erso. The POVs switch between all six of the main characters, including the villian, so we can see far more of how their paths lead to where they are in the book.

I'm so glad I got this book out of the library and I would definitely recommend it! 4.5 stars!
