Smaragdgrün. Liebe geht durch alle Zeiten
by Kerstin Gier
I really wanted to love this conclusion, but I just didn't. More whiny lovesick drama, uncontrolled swooning, ill-humored phrases about people's appearance and meandering plot. It was better than the second book, but it did not meet the quality of the first (though that one also had problematic content). The reveal midway was also not really a reveal, as the author had already dropped some not too subtle hints about it. The conclusion was built up great, but the big end boss battle was quite anticlimactic. The big reveal of the baddy was unexpected, so that was well done, but it was all over in a few pages and rather than making the baddy a bit more complex, the author just left him as a very narrow- and single minded two-dimensional standard baddy. The author could have done so much more with this scene.
Only Gwendolyn's friends were saving it somewhat. They were awesome. The premise kept me going too.
