I am unsure if it is the books or the writing style, but I have difficulty connecting with this author's characters. With the exception of Law, Paolo & Styx, the MCs never fully draw me into their plights.

In this book Tackett Austin is going through a sexual mid-life crisis. He sees his friends settling down and begins yearning for that kind of joy and permanence. As he celebrates his birthday, the flirtatious bartender Micah Slayde makes it very obvious that Tackett is a Dom he would like to submit to. But Tackett isn't looking for a plaything, so now Micah has to prove to Tackett that Micah truly wants to be his boy.

Again, the story was okay. Micah truly was a scatterbrain. No wonder none of his prior doms would collar him. I am glad Tackett was patient and also took time to learn how Micah ticks. It was intense but a satisfying journey for both.

I will read book 2 because I already bought it, but I would like to try another series to see if it's the author's writing style that leaves me wanting a little more depth.
