What You Did by Claire McGowan

3.0

The protagonist was very unlikeable to me, from the beginning. As a mom and wife, I understand being anxious about how your home looks, how your children behave and interact with you, and even how you are perceived by others. I even understand internally comparing yourself to others in a similar position as you, since that is how we as a society have been programmed. But her naturally condescending and judgmental thinking, which she does her best not to vocalize until further in the story, really rubs me the wrong way.

The saving grace for me was the author’s ability to add new clues every few chapters that made you question different characters for different reasons, inevitably clouding the truth until you read it.
