Storm Cursed by Patricia Briggs
4.0
I read into late at night to devour this installment, and it lived up to expectations. The cast of characters is now large, but that means that people are in real jeopardy, as some are clearly going to leave. Mercy is still discovering new powers but also limits herself by staying away from Bran's pack.
I want to reread to see how the themes of binding and connections between friends and family work now that I know where it it building. I like spending a book with these characters because they take loyalty and responsibility so seriously, but also recognize shades of gray. When do lines have to be drawn -- when must an ally be denied because of what they are or what they do?
