I wanted to love this book after all seeing the rave reviews, but unfortunately I was quite disappointed. The pacing felt off, some scenes weren’t explained well and I didn’t connect with the characters. The book started off strong, then dragged at parts (so many library scenes) and needed some editing. The romance also didn’t feel believable to me - there was no chemistry or build up so it felt like it came out of nowhere. Finally, the writing is very casual (multiple exclamation marks, modern words like “super”, etc.) which I personally don’t enjoy.
